One of my very favorite shows is the The Walking Dead. Since the second half of season 6 starts today, Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d share a super amazing recipe for a sweet treat with your loved ones. I got it straight from the show!
Everyone remembers at the end of season 5, episode 13, when Carol, in her “Susie Homemaker” act, bakes amazing cookies for a diner party in Alexandria using applesauce in substitute for eggs. If you don’t remember the cookies, you’re sure to remember Creepy Carol threatening a little boy with them. Though, it’s pretty scary and hard to forget.
Yikes! Don’t mess with her!
Anyway, days later, AMC released the recipe for Carol’s Cookies!
I tried it and they really are quite amazing! You can’t even tell that it’s made with applesauce!
One tip though. If you don’t have a double-boiler to melt the chocolate, fear not! I found that it works just as good to place the chocolate in a bowl and heat it in the microwave for 1 minute. I caution that the bowl will be extremely hot once it’s done and to use a towel or even oven mitts to remove said bowl from the microwave.
Here’s how mine turned out.
I hope your TWD Valentine’s Day is yummy and filled with love…and decaying, walking corpses!
